The concept of this album came about because of a personal project I did last year. After a series of traumas that were made even worse by the pandemic, I found it difficult to maintain my attention to compose my typical 3 to 7 minute songs.

I decided to try a different approach - composing songs just one or 2 minutes long. In addition, I tried to, in most cases take the song from it's inception to final recording in the same day. This forced me to get directly to the core of each idea without wasting time.

Originally I thought this would be a good way to start creating again by having ideas that I could later develop into full-length songs. Interestingly, I found that many of these ideas expressed what I wanted without the need to be any longer.

While I was working on this project, a friend in Seattle serendipitously included some samples of some songs he was working on. I loved his ideas and took the same approach as with the other songs - work out the ideas and finish recording in the same day. First time ever that I've done a long-distance collaboration via email. These songs are "Gitalong" and Stage Freight".

The last songs are captured moments from over 20 years ago. My friends Istvan Rez , Marc Moerth, and I used to meet up and spend hours improvising. There were times when ideas would flow and none of us were sure who's idea we had just played. I've shared a few of those rare moments we were actually recording. Hering these always brings a smile to my face.
